Fasting: Day 20

Verse of the Day: Colossians 1:10 (NIV) And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God.

As we come to the last two days of this fast I want you to focus on how this fast has affected you spiritually. Has it motivated you to live different and to think different. To really believe that all things are possible through Christ. As you live your life in such a way that those around you see that you act and react differently, biblically, and with supernatural integrity, hope, and courage; you will leave a mark on history. You can change this world and see more happen in your life than you had ever dreamed of, if you will keep your heart and mind daily fixed on Christ.

As a follower of Jesus Christ, you should you should look like a follower of Jesus. 1 John 2:4 says, “He who says, ‘I know Him’, and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
No matter where you go in today’s world, if you practice what you preach, you will stand out among the crowd. You will look, talk and act different from the rest of the of the people around you. Don’t let this surprise you; you should expect it.

May this be your goal for this year, that you will “live a life worthy of the Lord and please Him in every way”. Pray today that you will make a difference at work, school, church, among your friends and in your neighborhood. I pray that lives will be changed because of the living Christ inside of you!

Personal Word: Well we are almost there. The last two days have really arrived! During these last two days you may find yourself thinking about food and what you are going to eat when you get done your fast. You may even be planning out your meals. I know I have already bought my first box of “Pop-Tarts” to eat after the fast is done. But try not to let your thoughts get consumed with food. These last two days are important. Keep focused and continue to remember the reason that you are fasting and the breakthrough that God has for you for the rest of this year.

I am anticipating an incredible night, Sunday night at our “Epic Breakthrough Service.” I want to remind you to come out and be prayed up! Bring anyone with you who needs physical emotional or spiritual healing as we believe by faith that God will heal them and set them free. I hope to see you there!

So... something really awesome just happened! I picked up my Bible to read it and I noticed that my bookmark was marking a page that I didn't put it in. I've been praying that God would speak to me and just get me to be totally hyped up & on fire for Him. To be honest I really wasn't seeing anything different in my relationship with God and I knew I was totally not acting the way I should be while fasting. Then I opened my Bible where it was bookmarked and came to Isaiah 58, which is all about fasting. It really helped me see why I'm fasting and what my attitude should be like when I'm fasting. So I encourage you guys to read it. It'll help.
