Verse Of the Day: Revelation 3:20 (NIV) Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.
I like this verse because it talks about eating with Jesus. At this point it has been a long time since I and many of you have eaten. I can’t wait to just sit down with my family and friends and eat a real meal. On a normal day, we go out and eat a meal with family or friends to satisfy our physical needs. We eat to provide nourishment for our bodies but we also sit down to eat with friends to build community and spend time with one another.
Since you are either not eating right now or eating a very modified diet it is easy to think about food and hanging out with friends eating food. Take some time today to get alone with the Lord and eat with Him…Not Real Food! But, spiritual food that feeds your soul. Think of it as a real meal of spending time with a friend.
In a fast, when I get into the word of God and talk with Him, it curbs my appetite. This may sound extremely weird to you but it is a very spiritual thing that we are doing. He is our “Bread of Life” and He wants you to sit down with Him so that you can hear from Him and so you can get your spiritual needs met.
God sent Moses to the backside of the desert away from all the distractions so that he might be able to hear clearly the voice of the Lord speaking to him. In a single encounter with the burning bush, God obtained Moses’ attention, and Moses never became distracted again. He lived a life of intimacy with the Lord.
Spiritual neglect will cause you to have an apathetic heart. Intimacy is the remedy for an apathetic and indifferent heart. If you truly desire a relationship of intimacy with the Lord, then make the decision to live a life of intimacy with Him!
Personal Word: We are down to the last three days of the fast! I am very excited for this weekend and our “Breakthrough Service.” I have had a closer walk with the Lord than ever before. It is as if he wakes me up every morning at 5:45 and I jump out of bed in anticipation of the time I am going to spend with Him. It has definitely been a breakthrough in my life. I have never fasted 21 days before and it has been amazing. I believe that God has incredible things in store for us individually and corporately. Let Him increase your faith. Let’s make these last three days the best days of the fast. Set aside that extra time to get alone with Him. Also, plan out your days after this fast to have a regular appointment time with Him so that you may open your heart before Him and hear what He has to say. God desires your attention. You can’t afford not to keep your daily time with God.

thanks for the blogs Don, Even though I think your awesome anyway, I really appreciate the blogs they help me to get through tough days, sometimes I read them a few times when I need strength. I feel as you do, I am energized for this weekend, in anticipation of what God is going to do. through praying for the request I feel that I have gotten to know some of the "Epic" people that I dont know so well, I feel that we have connected on a different level, and I am praying that God moves in mighty ways in their lives this entire year. arent you curious to see what happens this year? You should set up a space on this site for people to write in how God works throughout the year, whenever God does a "God" thing just let us know about it, and at the end of the year what a testimony we will have!! anyway I love you, thanks for holding my arms up

Yeah Don, thanks for doing the blogs. Seriously, they add even more to this fast. You know, you mentioned something about Moses living his life in intimacy with God... it made me think of when He wanted to see God physically. God covered his face so Moses couldn't see it, but Moses still got to see his back. I think I can relate to that right now as I'm fasting. We're all praying and seeking God. We're all seeking more. We're seeking his face. I guess what I'm trying to get at, is sometimes it seems like we can only see His back. Even as we're seeking so hard... it seems like maybe God just doesn't want to show us his face yet.
I agree with Josie. I think it'd be awesome to have a space for the year for how God reveals more and more of his face to us.

I have gotten so much closer to God latly. I've seen him move in so many different ways it's incredible.
I went on my very first prayer walk this past weekend, with my accountibility partner in the freezing snow.
As we took turns praying for different things, I looked up at the sky and saw such a beautiful place. How the trees were arched over the rode like a winter wonderland, how the roads where covered with snow so that you could look back and see your footprints, & how I could catch snowflakes on my tongue was so awesome. As some of you know I am fasting Desserts and TV. And now that we only have three more days left Im already thinking of what dessert I should break my fast with. These last days have been SO tempting. Through this fast I relized something Shaina said a couple weeks ago in youth group, that when your fasting your shaking Hell and Hells on earth. I was thinking about that this whole 21 days and it was like the Devil is temping you, but Jesus is testing you. But I am very excited to see what God can do.
And I agree with both of you. I think we will have so much to share by the and of the year.
Thanks so much for the blogs.
